CLCA : New Hampshire's Changing Landscape – Base Data and Conservation and Public Lands

Base Data and Conservation and Public Lands

To save the land that gives New Hampshire communities local character, working forests, wildlife habitat, productive farmlands, and drinking water, the Forest Society recommends that each New Hampshire town set aside at least 25 percent of its land base as open space. However, most communities – especially in the southern portion of the state – have far less than this goal.
