Ecosystems and Unfragmented Blocks
New Hampshire remains the second-most forested state in the nation, after neighboring Maine, but its forest lands continue to decline from a high of 87% in 1960 to about 82% today. This represents a loss of nearly 450 square miles of forest, with about one third of that change occurring since 1997.
