Open Space for New Hampshire

This guidebook provides a comprehensive, annotated overview of the major strategies that can be used to conserve open space in New Hampshire communities. It is directed mainly at municipal officials who make land use decisions, such as planning boards, conservation commissions, as well as others who need an overview of a variety of educational, regulatory and voluntary techniques for accomplishing land conservation. Each strategy is enriched with citation of any relevant state laws and one or more examples of New Hampshire communities that have used this strategy. The book was written by CLCA Director Dijit Taylor in 2000 as the culmination of a multi-year community conservation project that she did with the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation.
